At Southwell Lifts & Hoists, we pride ourselves on being a leading Australian engineering and manufacturing business since 1945, marking over 80 years of innovation in custom-designed lifts and hoists.

From our early days of transporting sand for the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, we have evolved into specialists in lifting equipment. Our journey began with large truck cranes and has progressed to elevated work platforms and high-capacity goods hoists, all designed to meet AS1418 part 8 standards.

We have successfully completed thousands of projects, becoming the top supplier of goods lifts for the Self Storage industry and offering car lifts for both residential and commercial markets. Notable projects include a 25-ton truck hoist at the National Gallery of Victoria, operational since 1975, and the first car lift with an integrated turntable in Australia.
